Assesments & Reports

For classes KG to 2 there will be periodical evaluations which are internal and informal. For grades 1-5, there are 3 evaluations in an academic year. For Grades 6 to 10 there will be three internal assesments as indicated in the calendar and a Final Assesment at the end of the Academic Year. The average of two internal assesments will be taken into consideration for the purpose of calculations.

Apart from this, the students are also exposed to national level skill based diagnostic tests such as Learnometer & ASSET tests from Educational initiatives. This will help both the school and the parents keep track of the performance of students across subjects and also help in recognizing areas of strength and areas/ skills that deserve to be strengthened.

In a nutshell, it emphasizes on adopting five steps viz as, Read-Find clues-Plan-Act-Reflect for meticulous evaluation.

Robotics & Edumedia

Robotics for 21st century

Robotics is a 21st century multi-disciplinary tool that is being increasingly used worldwide to motivate, excite and inspire children about Math and Science. Robotics inspires students to make connections across several disciplines rather than learning topics in isolation as it combines mechanical, electronic, electrical and programming skills. Students are motivated to learn by creating their own robotic devices, while at the same time gain a deeper understanding of interdisciplinary fields of study.

In addition, robotics appeals to a broad range of students and allows multiple points of access to science and technology for a variety of learners. ‘Robo-fest’ the robotics competition hosted by Khozama and led by experts enables students to delve deep into the subject.

Robofest - 2020

Robofest - 2020 is an annual robotics competition organised for the students of grade 6 to grade 8. The event was organised at the school campus on 22nd Feb2020. Al Khozama International School Principal Mr Abdul Azeez inaugurated the event. The chief guest of the event was Mr Salim C. A, professor, Imam Mohammed University. Mr. Venugopal, Academic Coordinator welcomed the dignitaries.

The competition had four rounds. The preliminary qualification round was conducted in the month of November. It was a written test and 18 students were selected from each class for quarter final. In quarter final individual practical skills was tested, which lead to the selection of 8 students from each class in the semi-final.

Semi-final competition was conducted group-wise with each group comprising three members from grade 6 to grade 8. Problem statement for semi-final was that “the robot has to move on a table as an edge detector avoiding the edges and has to stop at white patch when it is detected”. Five teams from both boys and girls section qualified for the finals.

The mega final was conducted on 22nd Feb 2020. The problem statement for the finals was “Auto Rescue Robot”. The students must program their robots to traverse a path and has to activate the windmill, then cross a blind patch, and rescue the victims to a safer zone then to the final stop at the end zone.

The judges for the competition were Mr. Hidayulla, Mr. Sajith, and Ms. SabithaRazi. Mr.Yunus, Ms. Ajitha and Mr. Fawas were overall in charge for the event. The event was a great success and it was concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Chrishanthi, Academic Coordinator.

Teachers assist children in seeking out information, creating multimedia content, collaborating on project work and presenting the knowledge gathered from multiple sources. Students are taught both theory and practical and they are given tasks to learn in an environment where they have hands on experience.

NIIT IT WIZARD PLUS

This programme is offered by the school tie up with NIIT Education, India and is designed to create an early exposure of technology amongst students. IT Wizard Plus deploys PACE methodology of learning. ‘PACE’ is built on the principles of David Kolb’s experiential learning model which means, learning through reflection on doing.

The program familiarizes the students with the various facets of technology and also nurtures their creativity through continuous exposure to various learning modules. The program aims at making the students future-ready with relevant IT skills and exposure to technology at an early age.
